It is clear that there are distinct styles and mediums that I am using. My work is divided into two rather distinct categories: one is abstract, modern, mixed media. These utilize mainly acrylic, alcohol ink, gold leaf, and resin on canvas or acm panel. The other set of artwork is much less abstract, focusing on wildlife and nature. These are mainly acrylic on canvas, but have elements of mixed media with accents of gold leaf or resin. I would like to note that I recognize that to express multiple artistic identities is unconventional. Conventional wisdom dictates that an artist must adhere to one distinct style and brand. By producing and showing distinct styles and subject matter I am actively protesting this convention while simultaneously feeding two sides of my creative and personal expression: controlled, literal, and accessible versus abstract, flowing, free, and expressive. The common denominators are color and attention to detail.
