Yoga Fest and Wake + Draw Figure Sessions
Join us for Yoga Fest, with instructors Edy McConnell and Julia Geisler, on the Town Lift Bridge on Saturday, August 5th. Yoga is free and will take place from 8:00 a.m – 9:00 a.m.
And, new this year, we are taking our Wake + Draw Figure Sessions to the Arts Festival! Join us on Saturday morning for some plein air drawing during Yoga Fest and capture the figure in yoga poses. All drawing materials will be provided. Start your day creatively with the Kimball Art Center! No registration necessary, just drop in and draw!
Session will be facilitated by Mark Elliot, Painting and Drawing teacher at Park City High School, volunteer facilitator of Wake + Draw at the KAC and general figure drawing enthusiast.
About Edy McConnell:
Edy is a local yoga instructor with 15 years of teaching experience. She’s taught all sorts of yoga classes – from prenatal yoga to yoga-for-athletes and in all sorts of places – from a Fortune 500 boardroom to a converted gas station. You can find her at The Shop Yoga Studio on Tuesday and Thursday mornings where she teaches an advanced-level creative flow class.
Julia is owner of Park City Yoga Adventures (PCYA) & Executive Director of the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance. Julia started PCYA in 2011 after a lifetime of adventure and guiding people in the outdoors. She saw the niche to combine yoga with the outdoors and took the leap to start an outfitter service that now offers hiking, snowshoeing, aerial and paddleboard YOGA trips year-round. For her passionate outdoor yogi guides, leading paddlebaord yoga in a 10,000 year old hot spring, yoga in a yurt in the winter or yoga in the vertical world is all part of the job. As Executive Director of the nonprofit Salt Lake Climbers Alliance, Julia advocates for access and environmental stewardship to rock climbing areas in the Wasatch. You will find her on the rock in the Uintas in the summer, mountain biking in Park City in the fall, or split-boarding in the backcountry in winter. Or you can follow her at @ParkCityYogaAdventures.
Please remember to use public transportation, carpool, walk or use the new Bike Valet on 7th Street.
